Challenge “High Water” Trip
This is not your ordinary trip! Experience the biggest whitewater in the Eastern United States! The river has rapids like those found in Colorado and Zimbabwe! You will be accompanied by expert guides who will bring you home to tell a great new story of your experience!
On this trip you will enjoy class II-III whitewater. Everyone will learn how to ‘run the rapids’ and ‘surf the holes!’ Guests enjoy the “Habitat Pool” during this trip. The Habitat Pool is our very own lazy river! This trip runs daily and is an experience sure to please the whole family!
Come raft with us on the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, Ga. and Phenix City, Ala., the longest urban whitewater rafting in the world! The course has been described to be “Wild as Colorado and as Warm as Costa Rica.” USA Today picked the Chattahoochee Whitewater Park as one of the Top 12 man-made Adventures in the World! This course consists of class III-V whitewater at high water. It is one of the most exciting whitewater rafting rivers in the US! The biggest distinction between this river and other rivers is the volume of water which will be in the river when it is rafted. For comparison, the rapids on the Ocoee River can reach up to 1,100 cubic feet per second in volume, while the rapids at the Chattahoochee can reach up to 13,000 cubic feet per second in volume. This makes the rapids the largest south of Canada and east of the Colorado!
Learn to kayak with our ACA certified instructors! They are friendly and extremely helpful in getting your paddling days underway by teaching you the proper techniques and how to stay safe in whitewater. Our instructors have had years of experience teaching at our other locations, and take pride in their ability to share their skills and knowledge of paddling whitewater with others.Paddlers can return for more advanced instruction to “become the paddler you want to become!”
SUP is an abbreviation for Stand Up Paddleboarding. Currently, SUP is one of the fastest growing sports and an excellent way to get exercise while enjoying the water from a different point of view! Whether you want to paddle the calm water, get into more adventurous currents, or relax and get in tune with your body in a yoga session, we would like to assist you in getting started on the water.
Join one of our expert fly fishing guides to learn a skill that will last a lifetime! We offer a variety of instructional courses ranging from beginner to advanced as well as fly-tying. The River Restoration project has allowed many of the fish that were once abundant on the Columbus/Phenix City section of the Chattahoochee to return and repopulate where they once flourished. One species in particular which has become more and more apparent is the Shoal Bass.
